Lovely sunny afternoon, we met up with some friends near Polsloe in Exeter and strolled over to the Party in the Park. Which has a relaxed community feel and a small stage for local artists. It was great to sit, chat and listen to the music. My favourite was Stripey Howling Hancock sketched here, who gave us a good mix of blues and ragtime. (Pencil)

Drove down to Exmouth beach this morning to blow away the cobwebs from last nights party. Happy birthday Abi! (A late night for us). After all the grey weather we have been having, today is sunny, but a bit chilly around the edges. The tide is nearly out and the little fella is enjoying looking for creatures in the rock pools, as they uncover. The lifeboat station is open to the public and their all weather boat the ‘Margaret Jean’ is out on the slip, looking very purposeful. (Watercolour)

Well the forecast wasn’t wrong and we have had a night and so far a day of very wet weather with gale force winds. I have driven down to Exmouth seafront to watch the sea crashing in, whilst I eat my sandwiches. Waves are breaking all along Pole Sands and Double Ledge and the sea is a dirty sandy colour. Some brave souls are out for a bracing walk along the front. (Watercolour)

Mostly sunny on the prom on Budleigh Salterton’s sea front (Devon). Popped down on my own, after all the heavy April showers we have been having lately it seemed very pleasant and nice to see so many folks out. (Watercolour)

Strolling along the old Foundry Quay at Hayle, with the boats moored up along side the high wall. It’s rather run down, but has an interesting appeal about it. I’ll finish off here and re-group with the others. (Pen)

Staying down in Cornwall for the Easter bank holidays with Mum and Dad. Today we went down to Marazion beach, it was a nice sunny day, but a little chilly. The tide was out and all the visitors were being ‘funneled’ along the main beach as they all seemed to be walking towards St Michaels Mount. (Pen & Brushpen)

Some brief sun today at Budleigh Salterton, on the sea front an older man enjoys it whilst reading his book.

We were staying last night with friends, Debs, Carey, Oliver & Henry, in Yeovil. Today we all decided to head down to Burton Bradstock and the holiday park there, to go swimming in the park’s pool and have a picnic on the beach. A lovely sunny day, better than the forecast, but chillier than it has been. We thought the ‘little fella’ was going to love the pool there, but alas he got himself all worried and worked up about going in. It was quite noisy and splashy – all good fun, but he didn’t fancy any of it, apart from the large model dinosaur they had about. Fortunately the beach was much more of a hit with him. There is a large bank of shingle there, that the three boys had great fun running and rolling down. The single here is quite small, so great for playing on and makes for a comfortable place to lie down too! That’s Oliver’s boots in the sketch and Carey laying face down, arm out stretched towards them. Looking a bit like something out of a desert scene. The cliffs are high and majestic, though with a lot of large cracks and piles of boulders that have fallen lying at the bottom, impressive though. (Watercolour)
